Hard pressed lick blocks provide benefits in certain circumstances:
- They are often more suitable for absentee managers,
- The blocks can handle inclement weather therefore not requiring full covered feed troughs,
- Consumption rates are normally lower than on loose lick which can be of benefit if cattle are in a traditionally high consumption area.
